inward and outward, gneiss, 107 x 45 x 40 cm, 105 x 57 x 60 cm, 2026
For some time, I have been interested in how human relationships and their dynamics can be expressed through sculpture. This exploration led to this work, in which I place two objects opposite one another—like two individuals, two bodies relating to one another.
The work explores the ambivalence of relationships and the ways in which they are shaped by social and cultural ideas and expectations. I am particularly interested in tensions between closeness and resistance, connection and separation, adaptation and self-assertion.
